Lincoln Douglas (LD) debate, for secondary students, is a value debate. Students learn to analyze the values behind positions people take and strive to determine their priority. Resolutions are provided at the beginning of the season and students spend the year developing their case(s) as well as their rebuttals. At competitions, they are paired against fellow LD competitors where a judge(s) decides who has best defended their value.
Ovation’s Lincoln Douglas Debate Class is designed to teach students what LD is, how to do it and how to construct a case.
