Apologetics is a homeschool forensics competitive event for secondary students (ages 12-18). Several tournaments have also begun to offer an Apologetics opportunity for Junior students (under age 11). In advance of the competition, students prepare a biblical defense of their Christian position for 100 different questions. Juniors prepare about ten. At the competition, students choose one from the three topics they’re given. They use their limited prep time to sketch a speech. Then, in front of a judge(s), they share their position.
Ovation’s Online Apologetics lessons are designed to teach students what apologetics is, how to research, to practice providing solid biblical apologetic argumentation, and to deliver practice speeches using computer- mediated communication.
